Sunglow Motleybesque!!

Guy Scavone II Jun 22, 2009 12:34 PM

I've been pacing for days over this pairing and they finally dropped. Sunglow Arabesque X Motley Het. Albino. Final count was only 14 babies, but I managed to hit on everything possible with the exception of an Albino Motley, not complaining

Sunglow Motleybesque

Hypo Motleybesque

Albino Motleybesque

Motleybesque

Different phases of the Sun

I think this was the first time the Sunglow or Hypo Motleybesques have been done. Can anyone clarify?

Thanks as always to Big Mike for the breeding recipe and the "old man" for always letting me bend his ear.

Cheers!

Guy

I've never been much of a fan of hypo arabs or hypo motleys because they loose their pattern which in my opinion is what makes them stand out as a morph. But this combination of motley and arabesque together it has really strengthened the pattern. I would love to have those babies! congrats!

Wouldn't the first quad morph be the hypo jungle paradigms? There are 4 different morphs involved in making these guys.

Joe

rainbowsrus Jun 22, 2009 05:09 PM

Not realy caring which side I'm on.........

A Hypo Jungle Paradigm has morph genes residing on three seperate locus (loci?) So while there are 4 different morph genes present (Hypo, Jungle, Sharp Albino and BW Caramael), it could be debated that there are only three morphs involved.

Not to take anything away from this great litter but it may not be the first quad animal.

In October of 2007 Frank Martin produced a litter in a shared project between us breeding my arabesque het for anery possible het for albino with one of his triple hets. The arabesque proved to be het for albino and we produced an Arabesque snow boa(Avalanche) along with the first ghost arabesque boa. Most people who have seen the Avalanche think it is also a hypo making it a hypo arabesque snow boa. This would not only be a quad but it would be a quad animal with two different recessive traits. It can be hard to tell moonglows from snows in general and since this is the only snow with a pattern mutation it is hard to be sure if it is a hypo until it breeds since there is no other animal to compare it to.The male will hopefully breed this fall and if it proves to be a hypo then it would have been the first animal that expresses 4 different traits in the same animal and it was produced almost 2 years ago.

Mr. Kirby,
Any chance that we get to see photos of the Avalanche and the ghost arabesque? I am sure lots of us would appreciate it, I know I would!

Thanks.

Now "THOSE" are some outstandingly GORGEOUS Boas, that Sunglow and Hypo Motley-Besque are just amazing!!! The patterns on those two is off the hook and that Albino Motley-Besque, is just.....WOW!!! is all I can think of! I'd love to have it! or the Sunglow!!! Either one would be a Genetic Power house. I'd take 2 of each of those!

Can't wait to see the post shed photo's!

Congrats on an AWESOME litter of Boas!!!

Motley-Besque's what an awesome combination of Boa Morphs!
