This season i bred a calico male to the founding female paintball and got 11 eggs...Total hatched was 2.7 paintballs,1.1 calico and 1.0 painted calico!(He is so orange in person, and will need updated pics soon the way he is eating!)

I've currently got two clutches cooking(and one more to lay)that are paintball 50% het for albino X paintball 50% het for albino....Also have a clutch of five from painted yellowbelly X pastel, and a fire girl yet to lay with the same sire..So i'm hopeful of at least one more suprise!

thanks

Hey Howard,thanks..your calico boy got the job done, but i think that big ole' girl wore him out early in the season..lol

I feel REALLY fortunate that the only combo hatchling is male!

btw..It's a funny thing...The heterozygous paints in this clutch are steller examples of the morph in comparison to all previous hets that i've hatched out..There is something to them being calico sibs, for some odd reason.(and the 1.1 calicos are a bit nicer than average too.)..The two genes worked really well together in this way.

cool stuff charles--I just got 5 eggs today from one of my females bred to my graphite ivory male. Tried several times to breed her to my super male, but he was like a bump on a log. They are probably sibs anyway, so maybe the graphite x will be better in the longrun

Ahh Painted Yellowbellies het for Graphite..Very cool Ben.

Would be killer to see a graphite super paint!Maybe it will show up without being an ivory as well.Or we can hope that the ivory super paint will show pattern on it.Either way it should prove interesting!

Did you breed that other one this season?
