hello, i was bored so got out my 08' male ridleyi and tried taking some pics. i got one decent one. little booger didn't want to hold still for me. :0) he is very tame and right at 5ft. i have an unrelated female that is a couple months younger. i will post pics of her once i get them. maybe this time next year i will have some hatchlings??? take care...

jyohe, how old are yours and how long are they? i keep them at room temps in the low to mid 70's with the heat strips turned off. they actually seem to do better w/out the heat. i feed them a small mouse or 2,just big enough to barely leave a lump, twice a week. they seem to be thriving how about your temps and feeding? how about temperment?

male is a yr old and 5ft. the female is 10 months and 4ft.

That's pretty big for a yearling, or at least bigger than my male was at a year. You might end up with a 9 footer. Mine is around 6' at 2 years w/o heavy feeding. Super tame, how is your's?

cool.......mine are second row from the bottom, I needed stuff for the bottom of the racks...no heat tape, heated room, bottom might be close to 80 at times and under at times...fed twice a week if I remember to.....hoppers or a couple fuzzy....mine are not a year old yet, not sure of length...they are all tail...LOL....male bigger than female, maybe 4 foot?....female like as thick as a finger?....they are growing,not puking so all seems fine.......just thought yours was alot bigger.....they seem to not take alot of feed...like let's say the Korean rats I just got...them things will eat everyday...really, I feed them like 5 times a week I bet, small meal, like a hop more or less,,,they can eat, and still begging for more....and they only defecate like once a week...which is really cool, most rats defecate everyday .....HA!....

I waited yeeeeears for ridleyi....they are so pretty and all, OH...yes...they will bite...I don't play with them much....they have the "beauty" attitude usually if I let them....wonder what a seven footer will be like...aaaaagh.....

thanks everyone yes, i think they are looking pretty good also especially the male.

i have never had a regurge from mine. they will eat every mouse in sight as long as they aren't getting ready to shed. i don't want them to be obese or have other problems from over feeding. that is why i do the small meals twice a week.

as far as temperment, they both used to be very nippy as hatchlings especially the female. the male stopped biting about 6 months ago. they female...well...she hasn't bit me in a month. lol i handle them on a regular basis. usually at least twice a week. the male is so tame now that he is the first one i get out for people to hold with no worries about any mishaps. they are a pleasure to have

Wow. He's just gorgeous. I JUST got my male and female caves delivered today. Can't wait until they're that big. Here's a quick pic of the female.... i know they don't like to hold still for the camera. lol.
