Lavender hognose update-pics

krhodes Jun 23, 2009 10:48 AM

Just got these pics from the owner of the Lavenders. To date there are still only 3 that exist and several hets. Some cool projects will no doubt be coming out soon with these bloodlines. The top pic is a comparison to the orange albino female. The lower pic shows the two subadult lavender males compared to albino females.
Good luck with the projects David.

God I love these snakes. They are truly beautiful! In some ways, they sort of resemble a snow to me but darker.

I wonder what their genetic pool will bring to the table. Do you know if these were wild caught or were they the culmination of specific genetic breeding?

Are they currently keeping all of their hets or do they plan on selling some down the line? I hope they are successful either way so that these can make it into the market place at some point in time.

Glad you like'm.I strongly believe that the mother came from
wild caught,so far they seem to be simple res.but more out crossing needs to be done.As far as 100% hets go i thought the
young males would go this year, but they still seem a bit shy.
But one does have a little interest in mating. So i'll keep
trying to pair him up with a few virgins so i keep my fingers crossed. But i do have possible het eggs cooking now.I think
next year will be the year it really gets going.

Thanks
David Turcotte
