Nice striper. Are any of those deserts locale specific? The desert stripers were originally called 'scissors crossing' kings , since that was the only area that striped and abberant desert cal kings came from. But now a lot of cal kings have been bred together and you get a mess of locales refined and mixed to create a nice whiter white and blacker black. .
I like that B&W banded as well. Any locale data on it?

Unfortunately I don't have any locale data on the striped king. I got that snake from a local herp shop (LLL Reptile) a few years back when I was just starting to build up my collection.
It does look like a desert phase from what I understand (not saying much). I've seen a few coastal almost-stripers from around north county SD and they all are brown/yellow.
In any case, I do agree that it's a beauty.

That's a conjuncta from Shannon...I also have a female from Shannon too. Beyond that not sure about the specifics.

That does not look like a conjuncta phase (mid Baja).

Well I'll be damned Jerry. Been hiding that beauty?
>That does not look like a conjuncta phase (mid Baja).
I guess I should have qualified that with "I believe it's a conjuncta".
From everything I've seen (again, I'm still very much a rookie at all this) it looks like one (e.g. Bob Applegate's book has a shot of one that looks spot on to this one).
I know there's also the nitida phase but there's no confusing the two when seen side by side.
Either way, it's a fine looking king

Those are awesome. I like the banded a little bit more for some reason.

The white on that B&W is so clean! Yeah, Scott, Cals are the "it" snake for me too, and finding one even as a 40 y.o. man is still electric! I've said it before on this forum and I'll say it again; "No snake keepers collection should be without @ least 1 Cal King." You've got an absolutely awesome collection.
