Ok guys, for those who dont know I am going to build a new tank for my Savannah Monitor Jango, his is a little over a year old and he has hit his growth spurt (finally!) 3 months ago. In June he was a mere 12 inches (with his tail) now he is slightly over 20 inches (with his tail and his body is almost 12 inches). I started feeding him mice every other day in June and the results are great. Well, now he is about ready to move out of his 40 gallon breeder. I plan to build an enclosure 6 feet long, 3 feet wide, and about 2.5 feet high. I am going to make the bottom with plywood, as well as the sides and the back side. I am going to put a piece of plexi glass in the front. Over the plywood on the floor I want to put mica. I am going to put about 90 pounds of soil in his new enclosure. I am keeping his water bowl (for now) and his driftwood and I am adding more giant branches. I also want to buy some large pieces of slate for him to bask on. I am going to use his habba hide for him as well. So, what do you guys think? I am of course am adding one more light fixture with about 75 watts (I also have 2 other fixtures with 75 watts). Right now he is on a 13 hour light cycle and in the winter I am changing to 14 hours. So, what do you guys think on his enclosure I am building? Also, when I finally build it (this coming weekend or the next one after it), how can I put pictures on here? Thanks for the help guys, I am so excited to be doing this soon, he is going to have a blast in his new giant tank!
