I wrote this poem last year for my English class. I think many of you may enjoy it.
Unsuspecting, Unaware
a weathered log sits on the bottom of a river bed
it sits still, silent, and ancient
a fish moves about just inches away
unsuspecting, unaware
the fish darts in and out
over and under
exploring and poking
unsuspecting, unaware
with the patience of the ages
and its camouflage complete
the weathered log awaits its prey
unsuspecting, unaware
the wavy worm that it displays
lures and beckons
irresistible attraction, impossible to ignore
unsuspecting, unaware
come here, come closer and closer more... SNAP!
betrayed by the wavy worm,
the fish is no more
unsuspecting, unaware
