Clown and Strange Sib PIC

Christy Talbert Jun 26, 2009 09:46 AM

Hi all,

This year, my first clowns are hatching, proving out an RDR possible het male and his daughters.

1.3 clowns, plus this strange sib.

Looks like a jungle, but has a very extreme head (like a clown?). Your opinions welcome!

Not likely a clown but a extremely nice example of a jungle. We produced one with some Axanthics several years back but have never been able to reproduce her. I know several others have hatched similar to this extreme but it appears to be random.

Congratulations on the clutch Christy!

That strange one is beyond gorgeous -- whatever it is -- have fun proving it out!!

Congratulations Christie. I bought three females from you 3 years ago from your male. While I got two clutches last year from them bred to a Het, neither proved out. One of those girls bred my clown this year and is due to lay soon. The other girl that laid last year, is not going this year, and the third girl has been a poor feeder and is still not up to size. It's good to hear that my 25% Hets are now 50% Hets.

The Clown is beautiful, and if nothing else, the Sib is one to keep just as a conversation piece.

Hi Tim,

I could not remember who bought those girls. Well, no doubt, dad was a het, so I wish you luck!

Don't give up!!!

Did they turn out to be pretty and bright colored?

I don't know, but they are both GORGEOUS! Big congrats. I am looking forward to trying to hatch some clowns from an RDR het female in 09/10 season.

Hi Christy

Congrats on proving out that het male!

It looks like a classic jungle. Had one a few years back. I think it it an incubation glitch thing.

looks like a very nice jungle! i got a jungle on my very first clutch years ago (normal x normal) i got all excited until i showed it to Amir Soleyman and he burst my bubble by telling me all about jungles...i still have him, but as we all know, the jungle trait is not hereditary...
