Zahara delivered her litter sometime between 7:30am and 11:30am this morning. Thankfully my boss is very understanding and let me run home to go make sure everything was okay. Of course I snapped some pictures too!
I counted at least 16 little heads and 2 slugs so far. I don’t remove the babies until they move off from the birth site on their own so I’ll know the final count soon.
Zah resting with her babies. I was surprised so many were still in the sack. She went 110 days POS and 128 days from ovulation.

Babies in the goo are so cool!

The father was Alpine, a ’03 Kahl strain albino that was born in my very first boa litter, making me a grandma! Looks like quite a few had a peak or two on the first saddle, I thought that was interesting as quite a few babies from the ’03 litter had that as well.

Check out the two babies on the lower right corner resting their heads together.

Still in the sacks. I like the one right behind on the top left (out of the sack) with the gray lateral color stripe.

Zah was really tired but managed to hiss up a storm when I took her out. Here she is in a resting tub looking very thin and dark. She made me proud once again, she’s such a terrific boa!

I am so very excited! Thank you for looking and sharing the experience with me.
