Oh Well...

This female spent the past 2 weeks resting in her lay box.. But, last night she decided to lay her eggs right on top of the box instead??

I guess it's better than in the water bowl... Right?

LOL, too funny Mike. Hey, at least you got a nice looking clutch even if she didn't read the directions on where to lay!

I've had two snakes drop a few eggs outside the box before they decided to lay the rest in the nest box this year. Not sure what's going on.

Congrats!

As snakebit always says to me " they don't read the books " Ha ha. Glad the clutch came out okay. They look good!

yep, much better than the water bowl.

I didn't even use lay boxes this year. I just filled the cages of gravid females half-full with damp sphagnum moss and put in a piece of styrofoam that my frozen rats come shipped on. Every one of my snakes laid underneath the piece of styrofoam and the eggs were plenty humid.

LOL, I love it when they choose the other road for the best, Mike, I understand completely, one of my rats hides hers under the water bowl, twice in a row, all the other rats use the lay box???
