Raining Spilotes!

vegasbilly Jun 26, 2009 07:26 PM

Put the group in the shower for 20 minutes. Got my original pair to breed inadvertantly this way so I figured its worth another try. Rotated the males out of their respective harems as well to see if that sparks anything.

that pic's a keeper but i was under the impression that 'what happens in vegas, stays in vegas?' lol! actually, i remember when you 1rst posted that info stating that they went straight into breeding mode. did it work this time as well?

Hey Dan!

It wasn't 'till the water was running and 3 females were in the shower before I discovered both males were opaque! At that point it was easier to put them in than abort the mission! I swapped males into the respective "harems" and will try it again periodically after they shed. Trust me, it was not easy getting them all in. Everytime I opened the door to add another it was a major jailbreak!

Just not confident the females are big/old enough to breed. They are F1s and are just under or right at 6'. I have ramped up feedings with a goal for some action in the Fall. I'm just postulating that maybe every other day showers may prove more stimulative than daily sprayings.

Try a candle light bubble bath, works wonders

From what I gather from TV commercials, putting them in separate bath tubs outside works wonders, especially with older pairs. Good luck!

Haha! Maybe a Corona and some limes too?

You guys are all forgetting the most important element - a little BARRY WHITE playing in the background!!

Seriously, good luck Bill. My Spilotes eggs all went bad within the first two weeks.
