Breeding is merely breeding. Success is producing babies, actually producing more babies then you kill off.

If this was a commerial business, then success would be, producing and selling babies for prices that would more then pay for all the bills goanna ranch incures. But we won't go there.

Now think about this, this forum is sorely lacking in these types of pics. If I was to only post pics of a Sav on the lawn, I would be of no benefit. Hopefully my pics of breeding, nesting, eggs and hatching will round out this forum, as to what monitors really do. Remember, they should do more then sit on the lawn. F

I agree and love the pics that you produce. Not many can produce the sort of pictures that you do, so frequently. As for success, I do think you are wrong on that one, sort-of. I believe sucess is a measure of good results to bad given a common effort. The environment that you provide allows the monitors to be monitors. Now how many people have had pairs that never breed and never lay? How many have had monitor that are stuck in poor conditions and are always hidden, or lazy, or sickly? I am young, and relatively new to monitors, but i have read a lot. The fact that you have the ability to provide and know how to provide the environment to induce breeding and laying is a form of success, only dwarfed by the success of getting more babies than dead eggs, which you mentioned earlier.

As for the monetary sucess, that again is just a different kind of sucess. I do wish that you would be atleast be breaking even, but you eluded to that not being the case. I am sorry to hear that you are not able to live the life of an NBA star given the success that you have had with these lizards.

I wish you all the luck with the monitors, and as a way to cover expenses, may I suggest POWERBALL.
