with the warm weather we have had lately they have been feeding heavy, they pretty much crawl out from under the logs and come running when they hear me putting their food out in the mornings now.

my boxies have been getting the "iffy" maybe slightly over-ripened strawberries the last two weeks from my strawberry patch in the garden, they love them, the patch its about 40ft x 6ft, we picked about 7-8 gallons of strawberries out of it this year, next year I might fence in my strawberry patch and when we a done picking most of it, then turn the boxies loose in it, much in the same way the cattle farmers around here let the cows into the corn and bean fields in the fall after the harvest so they can clean up the leftovers.
Now the mullberry tree in our backyard is starting to drop so I will throw those in too, but they don't go after them with the same excitement as the strawberries.

Jeff,

That sounds like a nice setup. The neighbors have some blackberry bushes that they let me pick from, the berries are currently pink, so there's a bit more of a wait to go.
