Late in the season breeding?

crestedcrazy Jun 27, 2009 12:30 PM

I wanted to get advice on breeding late in the season. I have a female that was cooled but was not paired up and just received a male that was also cooled but had not been paired up. Would I be wasting time pairing them up now or has anyone had success this late? She just shed and ate. If not they will make a good pair for next season.
Thanks, Chris Drake

What do you have to lose? The worst that can happen is the female refuses to have sex. Kind of like real life with humans!!!BA P.S. I've had alterna breed in mid June regularly and lots of other guys have double clutched their females later than this. Good luck.

I didn't really think about how late they double clutch. Good point. I will give it a try. The worst that will happen would be having to wait until next year anyway. Thanks Chris Drake
