Soaking box?

shadow4108 Sep 14, 2003 09:50 PM

I heard once that placing a box over the water bowl will encourage a shedding ball to soak. Is this true? Are there any dangers or things to check for? My snake likes to hide and I never see him soak, would this help him to shed easily?

there would be a hole in the box for him to enter and exit at will.

Well, it is not necessary for a BP to soak during a shed. 95% of my balls do not soak during a shed cycle. I mist the hot side of their substrate (which for me, is unprinted newspaper) and that seems to work 100% of the time.

i use a sort of reptile carpeting in my cage, but i assume the idea would still work. I think i will try it. Thanks.
