what can you do to make your mice stink less?

rudedogsurfrat Sep 14, 2003 09:57 PM

I read a post below and someone suggested to use rabbit pellets and put vanilla in the waterbottle.
This got me thinking. I am trying this method but are there other remedies for a smelly garage?

thats the best way to avoid a stinky cage..

clean every 4 days or so..

1 teaspoon of vanilla (pure or extract) per 1 gallon of water.. any stronger and it does nothing, any weaker and you wont notice any difference

best of luck

the BIGGEST thing you can do to keep the smell down of mice is to clean on a regular basis..

mice SMELL.. plain and simple.. vanilla only masks the odor.. rabbit pellets only prolong the cleaning cycle a few days..

I find that using a product called Yesterday's News works pretty good. It's recycled newspaper. I have my rats and mice on it and I don't smell a thing.

It does work a little better at keeping smells down, but it wasn't worth the extra expense for a small amount of return. I get a bunch more aspen for the same price.
