Introducing the Splatter Blast

spudsballpythons Jul 01, 2009 07:54 PM

The father is a lemon blast. The mom appears very normal, but evidently there is a hidden genetic at work here. The mom is not a cinny, mojave, yellow belly, black pastel/aka labyrinth and definately not a pewter...so please don't ask for pics of mom. I will be working with her in upcoming projects to further investigate the potential new gene at play. I hope you guys enjoy the pictures. She is just so beautiful, I had to share her with all my fellow herpers. The clutch total was 5 eggs. I got five healthy babies that have the following apparent genetics: 1 male pastel, 1 male pin, 1 male normal, 1 female lemon blast (which is in one of the pics I posted), and 1 female Splatter Blast! Let me know what you think!

Thanks,
Kenny Scott

it looks an awful lot like a cinny or black pastel pin/blast

spudsballpythons Jul 01, 2009 08:29 PM

Mom does not resemble a cinny or black pastel although I'm not disputing that perhaps she carries a hidden genetic for patternless or reduced pattern.

Thanks,

some type of Granite/Super Granite gene. No pics of mom. How about a pic of dad? Great looking snake. congrats. Jeff

Here's daddy.

I had hatched a brighter male, but held this one back because I just loved his busy pattern!

Thanks!

Thanks Spuds. That is exactly what I thought he would look like. I'll stick with the granite/super granite theory. Very nice indeed. Jeff

That snake is awesome, congrats!!

The name on the otherhand...I dunno? It reminds me of an upset stomach or something..? LOL Maybe I am naturally childish or something, but I dunno?

Nice animal, looks like BHB cinnamon pin.
But I don't think there is a pastel gene inside, look at the head, no blast imo.

Here are some pics of what I produced last year. I am just calling mine Granite Pewter Blasts. I produce very granite appearing pinstripes. I believe they are chocolate pins. Anyway, these were produced from a granite lemon blast that I produced bred to a cinny female. These are definately Pinstripe x Pastel x Cinnamon Pastel x Something else. They hatched silver with a lavender hue. Jeremy Stone haa produced Pewter Pins that look like perfect pewter pins. BHB produced a similiar animal to yours last year. Look at the color of mine at hatching. Look at how they colored up a cream color. Who knows what's really going on with all these genes, but congrats! I have attached my photos for comparison.
