new toads

nine0proof May 24, 2003 10:48 PM

I have some tadpoles and 2 of them have just turned into toads, and I have a few more that will be toads soon. I was just wondering when I should start feeding them.

Thank you,
Bob

They won't eat at all until their tails are completely absorbed. Once that happens give them about a week then offer small or pinhead crickets. When my Leopard frogs morphed it took almost 2 weeks before they would eat.

My tadpoles are also emerging into toads. They are tiny (less than 1/4 inch) so any insects, such as crickets, that I put into the terrarium would be larger than them. Will they be able to eat the crickets? Do they eat ants.

You can get pinhead crickets which are real tiny, also fruit flies (Places like PetCo and PetsMart carry the flightless fruit flies)
