Today's hatch!

Tom Keogan Jul 02, 2009 06:54 AM

Anthill pythons started to hatch last night and one is out now!

These Blackheads started to pip the other day and a few decided to come out over night.

Wow man- what a size difference!

Great shots, and can't wait for mine to start pipping... this 60 days crap is just silly- I don't think I have the patience for it.

Thanks!

Todd, what eggs are you waiting for? If its the blackheads you may be waiting like 64-66 days. LOL If its the anthills they only went 43 days for me. Good luck! The waiting is tough but well worth it!

The waiting is the hardest part.

Not python eggs- haven't tried breeding any of my pythons yet... prob next season.

The eggs I'm waiting on are my southern pines... feels kind of like a kid waiting for Santa to come to town.

I have never seen a captive bred and hatched Anthill Python, I know it's been done but I have never saw one till now, little tiny babies for sure.

LOL....It's so nice to see the devotion that Tom has to his BH's that he hatches their food source at the same time....

Tom Keogan Jul 02, 2009 07:50 PM

Thanks guys!

Jay, Pretty funny but I don't think that it would even be a snack! Maybe if the BHP ate the clutch. These anthills are tiny! I think the spotted pythons I hatched two weeks ago could eat one without leaving a bumb.

Jaykis Jul 03, 2009 09:42 AM

There was a news story a couple weeks ago about a real "snakes on a plane" The story was about pythons loose on a Qantas flight in Australia. Turns out it was a clustch of baby Spotted pythons, and they were never found. It was sensationalized because no one knew how small they were

if you just told us what pythons you won't be producing this year?
LOL

Awesome stuff, Tom!
Congrats on all of your breeding success.

I don't think Tom does Burms, retics, African Rocks, and maybe one or two others.

Yeah he has most of the other ones covered. All sizes shapes and morphs.
