Getula Intergrades

Jeff Schofield Jul 02, 2009 05:59 PM

I have been away and missed alot of these discussions the last few months, forgive me. So I get back, and read back a month or so(looking for pics of "anything new" and get to Zennys nice blaze X...and Rainer's remark on "impulse buying" on hybrids. Now I am NOT bringing up the hybrid discussion, but see some obvious growth within morphs across ssp level. Talking with Scott, I have stated that the different morphs available(for color)and ssp(for pattern)has basically added a 3rd "color"(red)to what has been a pretty bland selectively bred species.
My expertise "used to be" in NA milks, mostly due to their variability. With so few people breeding NA milks(drastically lowering variability)I have taken up getula. Kevin always called em "get you less"(getulus), and no one is going to BALL PYTHON them, but their variability is undeniable. So now I am sitting on some eggs from both "pure" and "intergrade" kings, and want to see what kind of POSETIVE thread we can make. Post your best pics! Lets see me!

Ok, I'll bite, these are from Calhoun county, Texas, speck/splendida intergrade zone, I find good specks and good splendidas in these spots, and some very fuzzy animals. Most are not what most would work with, but I find there is something out there for everyone, may take several years to refine but how about some screaming yellow splendida/specks?
