I have these black wasp looking flies living around the farm and have found larvae (pheonix worms i believe)in old moist soiled rodent bedding .
Does anyone recommend a simple mash that i can harvest these wild larvae,sounds simple enough ive i provide a place with compost they will come,any recipes that will not be too revolting (smelly,nasty)to keep in my open air rodent room,i was thinking rodent chow fines , powder and oatmeal with water made into paste

There is a GREAT solution I read about in a livestock magazine the other day...it's called a Bio Pod... the fly larve are raised outside and can easily be collected...here's the link...hope this helps:
