Snake Shedding

amickey1979 Sep 14, 2003 11:57 PM

I purchased my ball about 2 weeks ago. One week after he ate a rat pup. I attempted to feed him again and he would not take the rat and his belly was a little discolored. He is not starting to shed and he is all wrinkly almost like he is dehydrated. I was just wondering if I should be concerned or was this a normal thing. Thanks

Correction to the Question above. I meant he is NOW starting to shed.

if your snake is going into a shed you need to provide more humidity for it so the shed goes well. Try misting or soak the snake in a warm water for a while then put it back in the tank and see if it sheds. Make sure the water is not too hot. It should just be warm to your touch. If he still doesnt shed try putting him in a moist pillow case over a heating pad with low heat. Im sure other people will have more advice. for you also.
