Hey everyone!
I've been wondering how much does a garter cost you?
I mean I know some of you guys have tons of them but I'm talking about just one snake...

I've been to the pet shop and saw the garter that they had but I want one a good bit smaller (Something Baby Size), So I'm currently waiting...

But yeh if anyone can provide this information that would be more than helpful!

And it'd be more than awesome if you could tell me like for what kinda diets... ie; insects, fish, etc etc

First off, scrap the pet store idea. Buy from a herp store or breeder. Or even catch your own if you want to pay for the vet bills for check ups and deworming. A tank is probably 20 or 30 dollars (quality 20 gallon). Then you need a heat pad or lamp (probably about 15) substrate (aspen works well...probably 7 bucks) a water bowl (depends) and a hidebox (you can make one out of old boxes or containers). Then you need food on top of that. There are other costs such as vet bills and extras that will add up over time. Many will eat mice, but some prefer fish. Run a search on care on this forum for many posts telling you about the general care of Thamnophis. Andy

Yeh, The pet store thing turned out to be a ribbon snake, I dont want one of those I strictly want a Garter Snake...
From what I've heard they are thicker and a good bit nicer...
Those ribbons were racing around in that cage when the lady came to try and feed them, And didnt want anyone to touch them...

Plus the tank thing was very small LOL,

But yeh umm where can I find a breeder?

Get on the classifieds. There are garters on there. Run a search. If you can not find one, try to find a reputable reptile store in your area that either carries them or can order you one. Andy
