Hey KS, it's been a while!
I'm wondering what your thoughts and opinions are on palpating snakes to get an egg/embryo count. When doing surveys in the field palpation is sometimes used to determine if a snake is gravid or not and how many embryos or eggs she is carrying. Is there any evidence to suggest that this is damaging to the eggs? Do you as breeders do it or do you just wait for the eggs or young to come out? If you do palpate, is there ever a difference between your initial count and the number of eggs/young produced? It's something that has always concerned me but that I keep forgetting to ask about.
Thanks!
