Huge Black pine egg

This was the only good egg of four dropped from my female that is only 16 months old but she is 50". I'm sure it's not a record but it looks like two eggs that got mended together. Its 1-3/4" Dia. at fat point. 4-1/8" long way. I cant wait to see ten of them in there next year.

They tend to have small clutches of large eggs.
Here's a pic from a few years back of one of my clutches.

All the eggs (including the bad one in the foreground) were in the 4-inch range.

I don't know about the record but I bred a pair this year that I got from Carl Gilmore back in 03 and she only laid 2 eggs but the larger one is 6" long. Somebody explain how I can post the picture here and I will show them. Not only that, but my P. Ruthveni pair from Dave Boyle laid 3 good eggs, two of them are 5.5" This is my first success with Pines and at first I thought I'd done something wrong, I expected them to be quite a bit larger than Corn eggs but this was much more than I expected. Praise God! I also had a 5 egg clutch from a Vandeventer pr that seems normal and Jani, 8 egg clutch from Isis that appear normal. My Northern and Southern Pines didn't take this yr, there's always hope for next year.
