Braining pinkies??

jdog74 Jul 08, 2009 10:14 PM

Tom, where you at? I need help learning how to brain pinkies. Do I take the brain out or just expose? For those who dont know I now have only 4 hatchlings that refuse to eat and its going on 3 weeks since they hatched. I was asked if I tried braining the pinkies, so I'm trying to figure out how to do it. Any other advice would be appreciated also, thanks

Assuming you are starting with dead pinkies, just slice the top of the head with a sharp knife, so brain and juices (yum!) are exposed. The idea is that the scent and taste will get the snakes attention.

You are welcome. Is this your first time raising corns? My first time was back in 2004. That was lots of fun, especially when they started pipping!

Good luck, and here are some pictures of mine.

I use an x acto knife and put a basically split the top of the head and squeeze a lil to get the gooey goodness flowing and then they normally take them right away.
