Strange grey colored baby...

RoswellBoa Jul 09, 2009 12:57 AM

This is the light colored oddball baby that showed up in my July 4th hypo X normal litter...

The mother and father were both possible hets for anery, but I don't think that is what is going on, as there is some red in her tail (just very faded).

There was also a premature baby, that appeared to be anery (no red color at all), but could be it was just missing its color from being so undeveloped. It had a horrifying skull deformity, so I haven't had the stomach to clean it up for better pics, but hope to do that sometime soon. You can see it in the upper left corner of this picture...

Here she is with one of the hypos, and a normal sibling (none have shed yet)...

Opinions on this girl? I'm interested in your thoughts on her strange coloring...

Yeah I think she's going to be here for a while I can't find any yellow on her anywhere...I'm excited to see if she will keep that white/grey look as she ages...

interesting! Looks so different from it's littermates. Did you notice any of the hypos being drastically lighter than the other hypos? Could be part of their normal variation but maybe not. deff. consider that one for a keeper, at least for a couple months, to see how it turns out.

I've got a weird one too, one baby out of 18 came out with a gray wash over the entire body, not just baby grays, but a gun metal gray all over and nothing like the rest.

Fun stuff!

April, all the hypos have a good deal of color, and the normals are pretty dark and speckled...she stood out like a sore thumb from the entire litter...none were even close...

I sure hope she keeps that look...most of the babies are in shed now, can't wait until they finish, to see what happens
