adogunnaike Jul 09, 2009 06:59 PM

I just introduced a male to a female that has been off feed for a few weeks and as soon as I put him in there she starting wagging her tail. I cant remember if that was a good thing or a bad thing... Ive been reading so much info for that past few years now im a little confused. Im going to seperate them now, but please let me know your experiences. thanks
Alan

USUALLY the tail wag means go away....it doesn't mean she won't let him follow or hold hands later on, but usually she wants him to go away....he is new to her at the momment....she wants him away ......

....wrong time of year.....yet they breed all year....so try again tomorrow and see what happens....

Ill just keep them seperated. The only reason why I introduced them is because she has been off feed for a few weeks, which might be due to the change in seasons. Its our rainy season (hurricane season) here in Miami, so we're experiencing different barometric pressures. Which is probably the equivalent to the rest of the countrys winter season or their snowy days. Just my 2 cents. A lot of Florida breeders start off a little later in the season then everyone else.

I've had a little different experience than the previous poster. It seems every time I put a male & female together & witness tail wagging, an hour later or so they're locked up. Just what I've witnessed so far.

Don't go looking for snakes--you might find them.

I've got one large female that does it pretty regularly when a male is introduced.....they are locked up shortly after.
