Milk Mustache???

jondrawdy Jul 10, 2009 11:11 AM

Hey there. I have a male bearded dragon less than a year old. I bought him from Mr. Rich Beasley. He is in excellent health and will hopefully make a great breeder in the near future.

My question is this. He has recently developed what looks like a milk mustache. The scales around the mouth and eyes has begun to gray like in shed, but it appears to be much thicker. The rest of his body doesn't appear to be in shed, though he has begun to darken up.

I read another forum in which someone refered to it as a milk mustache shed. They said it is often a partial shed. This is my first beardie. In fact my first lizard, always been a snake guy. I would just like to know if this is a normal occurence or if a trip to my vet would be necessary. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Jon

I'd wait and see what happens. I've had them shed just around the mouth before as well.
