the sunlight was just for the picture, I keep him in a room with a controlled 80 degrees

Just for the record, I only kept the snake for pictures before releasing it back into the wild, but out of curiousity, what law have I broken (I checked with texas parks and wildlife, the prairie kingsnake is not on the endangered or protected list)
you can't catch snakes on public roads or right of ways as of the 80th legislative session (2007)

Awesome find! I love Prairie Kings. Call me crazy, but there's just something beautiful about a naturally brown "earth-toned" snake.
