Rosy hot spots in So Cal?

anyone willing to tell me where i can take my 10 year old son on his first night road trip to find some rosy boas? im in lake elsinore and plan to go out tonight so any help would be great. thanks.

I've found them right in that area, right off of roads.

You need to know the habitat, but honestly, in that area, they aren't picky at all.

It helps to know the ambient conditions and times of year where you maximize your chances. And that is gained through experience, unless someone just blatantly tells you. I prefer to give little hints. For example, rosies do not like it too warm, usually. And if there is no good reason for them to leave their network of burrows and crevices, they generally won't. So what is a good reason?

Things realy slow down by July, so you will be lucky to find anything. Whitewater Rd. is a Rosy hot spot.
