Anery Jungles

kirby Jul 10, 2009 10:04 PM

Several years ago I made a litter of jungles het for anery using a light anery female that has no yellow coloration. Last year Frank Martin used one of the jungle het males and produced some anery and ghost jungles. This year I bred one of the males to a very high contrast black, grey and white anery. She is the best hold back anery female I have produced from the anery female I bought from Jeff Ronne in 1999 that was the mother of the first ghost boas in 2000 which included Mr.Hershey. This anery line produces very high contrast babies while the other anery that was used to make the jungle hets had less contrast as a baby and is a light adult. I think you can see the two appearances in the babies shown with both being good anerys and one showing more contrast.
These boas show the appearance I was hoping for when I started this project several years ago. I think these will make great looking adults, amazing super anery jungles and be usefull in combination morph projects.

Amazing babies! And sounds like some good inroads to making low yellow anery jungles, nice job! Can't wait to see what some of those look liks as adults. I love the higher contrast ones and the 'normal' jungle in that pic with the anerys is stunning too!
Huge congrats, terrific project!

Never been a fan of black and grey on snakes but those high contrast saddles look really cool. Like they've been outlined in marker. I liked the non anery high contrast jungle in the first pic.

cbmorphs Jul 10, 2009 10:58 PM

Bill,
Those are simply incredible! I can't believe how much the Jungle gene beautified the Anerythristic! Those have such nice Jungle patterns too really clean and crisp Anerys! Truly amazing!!! I can't wait to make those this coming season! Then in 2011 make Super Jungle Anerys and Super Jungle Ghost not to mention the possibility of Super Moonglow Super Jungles and Super Jungle Snows. Hopefully they all prove to be as beautifully colored and patterned as these gems you've created!!!

That's just what the Anery gene needed to come alive!

Huge congrats Bill!

You've inspired me. Thank You for that.

How many Jungle Anerys and Normal Jungles did you get out of the litter and how many of those are aberrant?
It seems like there's usually just 3 or 4 really nice aberrant ones in a good Jungle litter. I haven't really noticed many litters were there's much more than that. I'm just wondering if the pattern of the parent Jungle animal has a factor on this outcome? Or if it's just a crap-shoot!

It would be beneficial to figure out how to get all aberrant Jungles in a Jungle litter! Then you wouldn't have the problem of convincing all the doubtful guys who don't believe a clean crisp normal patterned Jungle is a Jungle!!! It would also be easier to identify some of the little boogers too!

Then lastly, do you have any pics of the parents?

Thanks in advance and Congrats again Bill!!!

Wow! Big Congrats! I'm normally not one for BCIs (I prefer BCC and BCO) and while I like some of the morphs and combos out there, I never figured I would actually buy one.

However...

Wow! All of you boa breeders who have been posting these crazy Jungle morphs and combos have got be back pedaling fast! I especially like the pics you've posted Bill. If I wasn't on the verge of purchasing a house (and if I wasn't sure that my wife would take away my checking card forever) I would definitely be hitting you up for the (normal) Jungle in that first pic! The Anerys look great too, but that little fella just POPS!
