Sick Boa...need advice...

arcanemind Jul 11, 2009 08:15 PM

I have this boa that became constipated for 5-6 weeks. In that time she hadn’t fed, nor defecated, nor shown any other signs of illness. It took an enema to get it out.

Since then, which was around 6 weeks ago, she developed RI, which got pretty bad. I treated it with Baytril for 2 weeks daily, and it went away. That was 2 weeks ago.

The RI has returned…and I’m at a loss at what to do. During this entire time since the beginning of her constipation she hasn’t taken any food. She also has a strip of scales that came off...only 4-5 scales...like a lesion...but i'm thinking that was due to an injection site that didn't get into the muscle?

Does this sound like IBD? These are all the symptoms she shows…nothing neurological, never any regurgitation...…

Try using Tylosin it often works where other antibiotics fail

I think the scale problem is probably due to Baytril injections

If that tylosin doesn't help I too am at a loss

I'll leave a link below click it and read that. It will tell you
how to use Tylosin as well as what type to get

Hopefully this is helpful to you
