GREEN monsters finally proving out

Jeff Schofield Jul 12, 2009 11:15 PM

All the grief, trials(breeding and otherwise), setbacks, time and distance.....here is a pic of a very gravid Anery Monster Island milk. There are 2 of these, and between Carl and I we should finally put to rest all the cynics! The bands are a green/purple...which of course tends to blend brown, but there is no red. Note the clean banding, and low band count.

You think you will be able to seperate the green and purple pigments into seperate snakes? That would be cool!

This is "step 1" of such a project. But often the colors dont look exactly what we THINK they should look like. Anery boa adults are practically the same as regular boas, but when genes are combined different things can happen. Add to that there are different STRAINS of "Anerythristics", and I think there are 3 in corns right? Bred to an albino....I have a strange feeling that SNOW E. Milks are going to hold ALOT more green than the greenest snow corn. Morphs will make em legal, and the size of these(adults routinely reach 4'!) should make the babies easier to deal with. Here is another pic, one of the females dropped last night!

You will definatly have to post pics when they hatch.

Nice Jeff! I hope you get a big healthy clutch out of that girl. Make sure to post pics of the babies.
