My green anole died

kellinjar Sep 15, 2003 10:42 AM

i'm sad...my anole died while I was at work...
it got really hot out (which is unusual for this time of month) and it must have been too hot for him..because I came home..and he was dead on the substrate...
I thought maybe he was sick..cause his eyes were open..but I tried misting him, and he died even jump (which is odd, cause he always scurries away under something during misting time)
I put on a glove and stuck my hand in and he was gone
whats weird is that it was no where near as hot as it has been all summer..but I guess last week when it started to cool down I stopped having hte fans on all day... I didn't even know it was supposed to be hott..

Sorry about your loss. I suffered also when my first anole died of old age. Maybe the heat lamp was on, and when it gets too hot, you should turn it off, so that it can get cooler. But don't worry, you did as much as you could, and the petstore's full of anoles.
