Mexican Milk question

jazmaniandevil Jul 14, 2009 02:04 PM

I'm interested in a getting a pair of Mexican Milks this season to raise up and breed (since it's been floating around this forum that they are relatively easy keepers and starters for a beginner and they are quite beautiful). My only problem is selecting hatchlings.
I'm interested in a nice orange banded pair and I've been getting mixed messages on what to expect as a hatchling.
Ric Blair on his site a month or so back, was selling a pair from his orange line that had a bit of orange 'coming in already'. Should I look for something similar to this?
Or should I look for any hatchling that came from orange parents?
Do completely orange hatchlings even exist?
Basically, how much can I expect a baby mexican milk to change on into adulthood?

The only hatchlings that are tangerine form the start are the pinstripe lines. You can usually tell if the hatchling is going to turn tangerine if the first band behind the head is a yellowish in color, then it will be a tangerine to some degree. They can be qiute variable. But the best way to get a good handle on how one will turn out is to see the parents.

That's a hot snake! One of the nicest I've seen in a while.
