Baby corn

janome Jul 15, 2009 02:28 PM

Hello.

I have been visiting a reptile store that has some baby corn snakes. They have eaten 1 time now. I was handling the one I really like and have 1st dibs on and it sliped out of my hands and fell to the floor!! Will it be ok??? I am just sick about this. I hope it will be ok.

It fell like 4 feet to the tile floor. I told the owner how sorry I was and he thinks it will be ok. Sure hope so. His wife feeds them on thursday so I figured I'd call tomorrow evening to see if it ate.

How high can a baby fall and still be ok? Feel so bad...

I wouldn't be too worried. They are pretty tough, and hardly weigh enough for there to be much impact. I have dropped them before, with no problem.

One time a few months back, I had my two year old corn in a small rubbermade container for feeding. I had set it on top of his cage, and it must have been hanging over the edge a little. He moved to the end that was hanging over, and fell to the floor - about 3 feet.

He had already eaten his mouse, and suffered no ill effects. He didn't even regurg.

I hope you enjoy your new snake, which ever one you decide to get.
