bearded dragon shedding

Atrain87 Jul 15, 2009 07:54 PM

I have had a baby beardie for about two months now, it was around 4 inches when I got it and has grown to about 7 inches now. Altough it is growing it has only shed one time. It is currently in a 20 gallon long with a reptisun 10.0, 75 watt zoo med basking light and a regular 60 watt light. It is on shelf liner with drift wood so it can get close enough to the uvb and the basking light. It eats very well, both crickets and greens and I dust the crickets once a day. It seems to be in perfect health but I just thought it should have shed more, can anyone give me any information about this and let me know if this is normal or could it be a problem?

As long your dragon is eating well and growing it will continue to shed its old skin. just make sure to spray him/her with a water bottle a few times a week to help loosen any old skin the is ready to come off. And also make sure there is something rough in the cage for him to rub that old skin off.
