Just posing some thoughts on the Extreme gene...clutches like this make me think about what's going on...so I'd like to hear people's thoughts on it...
Extreme to Extreme _ shouldn't that produce all Extremes?
In Don's clutch it looks like there is at least one normal Hypo...and maybe a normal Ghost?
Could there be two different Extreme genes at work?
Extreme Type1 and Hypo (het Ex. Type 2, Anery, and Amel)
to
Extreme Type2 and Hypo (het Ex. Type 1, Anery, and Amel)
This above would explain the visible clutch variations shown.
Is there another genetic explanation of why two visible traits aren't expressed in all the offspring?

Nice clutch, Don!
It was good seeing you guys at the Arlington show. I hope everything went well for you.

Thanks Mike, everything went great at the Arlington show.
Don that is a nice clutch. The Hybino helped answer some questions for you. Another Extreme Double Het. Nice! I have just about come to the conclusion that the Extremes are just a lighter Hypo and not another gene at all. The trait so far has only been visible in Hypos or Ghosts. We have seen Opals and Hybinos from Extreme clutches that do not visibly display the trait. Extreme to Extreme or Extreme to Hypo pairings produce all Hypos, with some being Extreme and some not, so the answer may be pretty simple. They may just be a better or lighter Hypo. If you breed two High White Bicolor Albinos, you may not get all High White Bicolor Albinos, but you will get all Albinos. If you breed two VP Hypos you may not get all all VP Hypos, but you will get all Hypos. With the Albino gene present there is not any black to reduce, so this may explain why we do not see much of a visible difference with the Hybinos and Opals. This has me leaning toward the conclusion that Mike nailed it with the name to begin with. "Extreme Hypo" We have bred a number of Extremes from several different breeders and the results are usually about the same. This pic is of the father of the Extreme Tricolor we produced this year. The rest of the clutch are all Hypos with red eyes and varying tones of gray bands. No matter what you think is going on they are are a great looking snake that makes projects interesting and fun.

Joe, I kind of agree with you on the differences of the hypos. I think there may be another gene involved in some of the animals Jeff Aloway had. The normal I bought from Jeff years ago that now looks like a light hypo and how it changed over the years will have to be bred to see.
Here's a pic. Don
Hey Don,
That really does look different! Much more to figured out in the future!
Exciting stuff...

Hey, shouldn't the combination of those two produce "wild type" maybe some a little lighter than others?
Dave
Some are lighter. In fact one is a normal hypo but some are lighter then others. Don
