O/T 150 gal. lid?

Alesha_Rae Jul 16, 2009 12:30 PM

I just purchased a used 150 gallon tank off craigslist but it doesnt have a lid. The previous owner housed turtles in it, but I will be housing a boa. Any suggestions on where I can find a screen lid or ideas on how to build one?

The dimensions are 72 7/8 x19 x28 3/4.

Ive looked online, but cannot find a retail store that carries replacement lids of that size.

Thanks for all your help!

This is just my personal opinion and i have replied for the good of your boa

Fish tanks do not make good snake cages:
1) hard to keep the heat consistent.

2) screen lids can and do cause terrible injuries to snakes.

3)there is not a good solid way to secure the screen lid that will prevent your animal from escaping.

4) I think snakes like a little more privacy and for walls of glass can't offer that.

Anyway I would If I were you either sell the tank or fill it with fish and look into buying an enclosure made specifically for snakes, there are quite a few on the market that will meet all the requirements for your boa and still allow you to veiw him freely

if you want you can send me a p/m and I will give names of some manufactured cages.

Again just my opinion...just trying to help.
