why now?

besides the obvious power/publicity hungry sam nelson why are the burms in fl. such an issue now?someone please correct me if im wrong but havent they been finding burms in south fl. since the early 70's

I live in Florida . Which means nothing as no expert on pythons lol.

However your right they have been finding them since the 70s from what I understand when developments began to encircle Glades park is when sighting began.

Its possible like a few here have said that they have been there for decades or more.

They arent native but decades ago you could buy anything at all you wanted in Florida .

I recall seeing lion cubs for sale in late 70s for $200 each and lots of other exotics . No permit required .
