Amazon Tree Boa

texasviper619 Jul 17, 2009 05:46 PM

I recently acquired a baby amazon tree boa and the little guy is having a hard time eating. His neck is about the size of a pencil but he cant seem to swallow his meals. So far he has gotten a fuzzy and a gecko half way down and the proceeded to spit it back out. What do you think the problem is? Are the food items too big? please help!

A fuzzy or tiny house gecko should not be too large. Could there be a lube issue? You'll be descenting the it, but maybe getting the fuzzy wet if it'll still take it could help.

Try a pinky. A few feedings may prep him for more.

I had 2 ATB and they only ate 1 day old pinks for the first few months. Watch out for regurging as well, one did and never came
back from it. He/she died. Also Humidity is a KEY FACTOR. I hope
this helps! Mine were nasty buggers while I had them. DARN THOSE
LONG TEETH!!
