Snakes on a Plane

vegasbilly Jul 17, 2009 07:29 PM

Wasn't sure where to post this so here goes. I was in Chicago on biz all this week and found a pair of baby Bull Snakes I wanted to buy while there....problem was how to get them home?

I bought a pair of cheapo knee-high panty hose and a pair of nylon boot laces. I put the boot lace around my neck and tied the snakes(in the pantyhose)to the bootlace. I used a small zip tie to keep them spaced apart on the lace so they were app. chest high. I had on a t-shirt and a Hawaiian-style shirt so as to add "volume" to my torso. Worked like a charm! Once through security I found a quiet spot and put them back in deli cups and into my backpack.

Nice! I love smuggling stories...of ALL kinds.

Bad move! Lets not encourage this kind of stuff.

Figured as I typed my post I'd get at least one response like that. No harm, no foul.....I seriously doubt I reinvented the wheel with this. I might add its 112F in Vegas this time of year..very dicey to have animals shipped..even w/cool packs.

You were intelligent and resourceful enough to get what you wanted and didn't let some stupid, useless rule/law scare you into submission. They told you we live in a "Free" country...you just took them up on their offer.

Amen brother! Plus saving the shipping made the wife less mad than she would've gotten. The secret to my collection is to ALWAYS ask for forgiveness, NEVER permission!

Too funny man. Good advice on asking for forgiveness vice permission. I'd still be too nervous to smuggle anything on a plane after 9/11. It could be misunderstood as an act of terrorism somehow. None the less entertaining story and I'm glad you made it without issue. Congrats.
