Actually, I posed that question last week and it is possible that he could be a Rankin. I have everything taken care of that I could possibly do. He is a pretty good eater and poops regularly. He doesn't like his greens much though. We got him on 7/11/03 from a pet store (shame on us). We were told that he was roughly 2 months old then. This pic was taken about a month ago. I have the fecal ready to go the vet today and I have considered getting him on parazap.
He is pretty cute though. He has a great personality and he loves to be held.
he doesnt look much like a rankins dragon, they have different markings and in my opinion slightly different body structure, its noticable tho, it could be possible that he is a mix, but probably he is pogona vitticeps and is just small. the fecal is a great idea and so is the parazap, it can really get them going. well let me know how you make out with him, hes just adorable!

do you have pictures of a rankin dragon that I could see?
that the pet store just wanted to say that he was 2 months old, when really they could have been selling just day old, or week old babies. If that was the case the dragon could be more like 8-10 weeks old, instead of 4 months. Has the dragon grown since you got him?

Oh, yeah. When we got him, he was about 3 inches long. I think you may be right about them lying to us. Knowing what I know now, there is no way that a 2 month old could have been 3 inches long.
Thanks,
Dawn

He's cute. Tiny, but cute.
Here's a picture of our male, Cleo, who the vet tells us is 4 to 4.5 months old now. He was just under 10 inches long when we got him on Aug. 6th.

Was that from snout to vent or snout to tip of tail? Unreal....
I took Velcro to the vet yesterday and she seemed to think that everything was ok. Velcro is just going to be a small lizard. She said that it is sometimes typical of "pet store" lizards. She did suggest that i boost up the temps of the tank and get a light bar for the cool side. Maybe the tank is a little too dark on that side and by heating things up and lightening things up, it will stimulate his growth...Also, she suggested that turkey or chicken with gravy babyfood can stimulate his growth. I will try anything at this point...
Oh, by the way, I did verify that Velcro is definitely a boy!!!

From snout to tail tip.
It's shocked us how much he's grown.
And his cage mate is doing pretty much the same thing. She's gone from 8 inches to 13 since we got her, and she's only a couple of weeks younger than him.
I guess she's seeing how big he's getting, and figures she'd better keep up. lol
