Is my Burm gravid or just fat?

MikeSkipRocks Jul 19, 2009 09:22 AM

Ok so I saw her and the male hookup a couple times. Its been about 2 months but she is still eating like nothing is going on. 7 lb rabbit last week. And she isnt interested in the egg box at all. I'm very tempted to take her to the vet and get her ultrasounded.

Can you post a recent photo of her somewhat stretched out so we can see her whole body without a bunch of curves, coils?

Has she shed since they mated?

Unless there's reason to believe that she's egg-bound I feel that having an ultrasound done will be a waste of money, but it could put your mind to rest. Patience is a virtue (If only I could learn that myself). The time after mating can be likened to the time spent in a maternity ward waiting for your child to be born, except it lasts for days, not minutes or hours.

Post a photo and let us have a look.

Later!

Yeah she shed two weeks ago. I keep going back and forth on whether or not she is preggers. She hasnt taken a crap in FOREVER so I think she is just full of chit. I'm not sure. I thought they went off food when gravid? This one is still eating at every opp. If she isnt preg. then i'm guna take her off food for awhile to slim down cas she is a big fatty for sure. I'll get a pic up in a day or two, my net access it hit and miss these days.

Some females may stop feeding when gravid and some won't miss a lick. Mine will eat up until she lays her eggs but won't eat while incubating the eggs. Some will feed even while incubating.

Now's not the time to cut off feeding. If she is gravid she should lay her eggs between 3 - 4 weeks after shedding & she can use all the energy source she can get.

Post a photo when you can.

Hang in there!
