Crazy Leopard Sunglow (?) Litter!!!

Amanda_Burke Jul 19, 2009 01:33 PM

Jeez! It's been so long since I've posted that it took me a few tries to remember my password! Anyway, I wanted to share some pictures of a few litters we've had so far this year - it doesn't get any better than baby season!

So, this litter was produced by breeding a normal 100% het Leopard Albino female to a male Hypo 100% het Leopard Albino. The Hypo Leopards poss het albino in this litter are absolutely INSANE, and there are some stunning white snakes....we're just not sure if we got a Leopard Sunglow yet! The Leopard Albinos are clear, but there is one definite sunglow that has a full thick stripe down it's entire body except for the tail and what appear to be solid orange eyes, but we're thrown by the fact that the pattern isn't a traditional leopard pattern. Could it be what Hans Winner calls his "Stars and Stripes" Leopards(which are striped)? Or is it a Striped Sunglow poss het Leopard? We're waiting for it to shed before we mess with it too much but either way, we love the look of it! We'll keep trying for a traditional pattern Leopard Sunglow!

I can't get over the color of the Hypo Leopards!!!

Here's a picture of 3 white ones from right after they were born, you can see the full stripe that has us confused on the right. I go back and forth between yes and no!

A close up of its head:

We'd love to hear your guesses as to what it is!

I'd say the Striped is more likely a Sunglow poss het Leo after seeing the striped Hypo and from seeing other really striped animals that are het Leopards. This is only my opinion though as I don't own any Leopard stock and i'm only going off what i've seen. They are all VERY COOL LOOKING THOUGH!!CONGRATS!!

It looks more het leopard than leopard. Congrats though, they look awesome.

Incredible... I'd say the full stripe is a het leopard, but the one to the right with a partial stripe is a sunglow leopard if i had to guess! Pics always lie so i'm sure it looks much brighter in person.

No guesses, but I must say your posts got better and better as I opened them!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet litters. Congrats.

The colors in this litter are incredible.

Hey Amanda, congrats on the litter. In the photo with three snakes, what about the snake to the left? Or is that a sunglow probable het Leopard? Later. Mike

I saw these yesterday on your web site. I think the albinos are very nice but what really catches me eye is the hypo leopards. I think they are very interesting looking. I think that is such a good combination because since both hypos and leopards van be very variable the combination of the two morphs should lend itself to a very diverse group of babies. I think your litter is showing that. I wonder what the super hypo leopards will look like.
Congratulations again on some great litters this year.

Both of those ( on left & on right ) have a Sunglow look to me.
The one on left has a Leopard Sunglow look I think.
The one on the right (full stripe) Sunglow het Leopard
I'm guessing.
I wish I could look at those tails closer ?
