Liesen line Black Pastel Pewter x spider

snakeman Jul 20, 2009 04:02 PM

Had this really nice suprise today from my Liesen line Black Pastel (Pewter x spider) I believe my line of blacks carry a HIDDEN gene which can TRICK out or change patterns. I have no normal looking babies in my clutches when I breed to a normal female. As you can see from these pics of my latest clutch to a spider I got a obvious pewter, a black pastel, a pastel, and two SPIDERS but take alook at their patterns. Really different!
Hope you enjoy the pics,
Thanks Gary Liesen

those spiders look more like a combo in my opinion.

that black pastel is super sweet. can you post more pics of that one?

i agree, those spiders do look like combos. are you sure they're not black pastel spiders? the pattern is very similar to the cinnabees i just hatched.

Are the spiders BLACK PASTEL SPIDERS? I have never seen one so that was why I posted these pics hoping for some answers.

Black Pastel Spiders I would think -- NICE ones at that! How many Black Pewter x Normal clutches have you hatched. Based on this clutch, I would say not a second gene -- but a REALLY nice clutch -- congrats.

I have produce a number of these the past couple of years. I am not sure what is going on with them. This year me and a friend of mine bred the son back to mom to see if we get anything. When I breed the weird looking spider to normal female I ended up getting weird looking spiders and normal looking spiders.
