I know pretty much everybody's season is coming to an end,and I do the "introduce male to female periodically threw out the year method". Well this picture was taken just a few minutes ago...I've been counting the days until this girl would be breedable since she came into my collection 3 years ago..well looks like my counting is over...DH sunglow X motley 66% het albino

Very nice pair Kevin! Good luck with them! I am very interested in hearing how your 'off-season' breeding goes.

I really like the abarrant pattern on the female.

Question. I was thinking of doing that method with introducing the males to females year round. My question is how often do you find your males breeding different females throught the year. Like for instance, if he is wrapped up for 3 months with one female, how long do you wait till he is ready to go again with another female. Reason why I ask is because I have a male that I might introduce to a female soon. If things work out, then in about 6months from now I will have a another female for him. But I dont want to mess him up. My main breeding focus is the one is 6 months from now. But I have a ready female now. So how do you see you males doing from one breeding, take about 3 months off, then go again with another girl. Thanks

Usually I will just put a male in with a female, leave him with her for a few days and if nothing is happening then he goes back in his cage..If he starts to court then obviously they stay together...As far as putting him with another female..I really just let the male decide(so to speak)if he wants to take on another girl..Ideally you want one male for one female..but if he finishes with one early then I will try him with another after giving him 2 to 3 weeks for some gas(rats) and rest.. That is just the way I do it..everybody is different...If you have a special breeding planned then I would just hold the male for that breeding...Just my 2 cents
