Is this similis?

SuZiC Jul 21, 2009 12:43 AM

Hey all! I am new here and I would need some guidance. So I am having my first lizard, that one in picture.

So is this ctenosaura similis, it is approx. one year old and should be male? Is is going to change its color, all images about adult male similis are quite different. Are they normally getting brown after green when they are growing? Thank You so much if you can confirm if this is similis.

It looks like similus but I can tell you it's extremely unhappy and very thin by the way it looks. The cage looks like an exoterra type and that's way too small for it among other things that are likely problematical...I'm not trying to be negative just telling you the truth. If you need info on keeping it call me and I'll help you...thanks

Dear Tom,
Thank you for your response. Yes it is true that the poor thing is extremely skinny. I don't know its origin, it came to a pet shop in to Finland a week ago (I am not sure where maybe from German) and the pet shop owner is trying to get it eat. If she can get this guy better then I will have him, but if he is not going to be totally health and eat properly then she will find me another one.

I will have a lot of questions about similis care, so be ready
