Does any one know of any? I have searched exhaustively, with no luck. Also, does anyone have any recomendations for de-worming?
thanks

thanks
sorry
All I can say is keep your eyes open and watch for any wild stock coming in. Who knows when and if any will come in soon?
Deworming can be done by using panacur and/or metranidazole.

Supposedly I hear there will be some in December if all works out right. I won't tell the name just yet incase it doesn't go through-- so he isn't swamped with emails. I belive most use ivermectin for worming.

hi,
Why has importing of so many frogs gone done recently, especially the rare frogs. It seems to me that they could make tons and lots of willing people would by them.
Also how much less are they than captive bred frogs?
thanks for any help.

hi,
I would buy them, but I'm guessing that not many can be imported probably a huge demand for them = high prices and since they are w.c. chances are some may not do well. I would jump on the chance buy some, but first i'm going to find some one with alot of experience with acclimating w.c. frogs and go "under there wing". And one more question, why are w.c. pumilio rarer in than c.b.?
Anyway just my moaning and groaning.

Are they more rare, and more $$$? I don't see why if they have such a chance of dieing.

Well i was just saying that w.c. frogs are actaully harder to find than c.b. frogs. As for the price i don't know how much they run for because i ahve never seen any for sale. I guess that i just don't have any connectioins.

Alright, here's some answers. WC are not more rare nor expensive than CB. The fact has been that just not too many have come to the US lately of a few things. They normally have waves of frogs from year to year, some years get tons, others not as many. I heard the other day we were supposed to get a bunch of Phelsuma as well but Europeans bought them before any made it here. The prices of WC pumilio usually ranges from around $40 to $100 depending on color. Bill Samples normally has them from time to time as well. With all the CB lately, your best bet would be to just jump on one of those many waiting lists to get some of them. There are a few forms bred in captivity with regularity now (Bastimentos, BriBri, Green mainly)so why not just get them? The WC coming from Panama (if they do) will be farm raised, and there may be some new types. That's about all I know about them at this point. Supposedly it took a few years to get them certified as CB (farmed) from the government, so they will not be pulled from wild populations. My personal view is to let some of the experienced people get them, treat them, and then get CB babies. Again, I don't keep frogs, but that's probably what I would do. Losing a bunch of frogs is never good for morale, nor the wallet. I personally am CB all the way for any animals.
Best,
Justin
Very true, I’m sure more experienced people would be much better with them, but to me the chance of getting some of these types of frogs at the price range you spoke of is very appealing. I do plan on getting on a waiting list, but right now I am done for this year. I keep saying that, but still keep thinking more, more, more...

Ah......... that's just the problem in the hobby. Too many people that are new to the hobby (less than 5 years or so) think that they will save some money by buying WC pumilio, or tincs, auratus, whatever. Seems we still have to learn the hard way. Anybody wonder where are all the pumilio that have been imported in the past?????? Alot of them are DEAD!
Buy CB and leave the WC to people that are experienced, knowledgeable, and willing to spend more money on them (vet bills) to keep them alive! If money truly is an issue, DON'T BUY WC FROGS!
Brian
p.s. Justin, give it up. You know you won't be able to stay away long. BTW, drop me a line, I had a ball in Panama.
I agree, and am not really saying I will get any, but would love to in time. I could buy some CB if I wanted to, but want to get more exp before I do. I guess what I am trying to say is that i would like to work with some WC at somepoint. I'd love to be able to help bring new things into the US hobby. For now I'm happy with my frogs and they have been somewhat easy to care for.
